Cooperation

In order to expand the scope of activities stipulated by implementing program directions, as well as to elaborate SME support new tools and programs, the SME Development National Center of Armenia cooperates with United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), United Kingdom Department for International Development (UK DFID).

“Support to SME Development in Armenia” SME Development National Center / UNDP joint project has started its activities in September 2004.

Main objective of the Project is provision of support to small and medium enterprises at central and regional levels directly and through strengthening the capacities of SME Development National Center of Armenia. The support is provided through implementation of Project Annual Work plans developed in line with SME Annual State Support programs with resources allocated from SME Development National Center and UNDP funds. Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Office in Yerevan


In the scope of cooperation on SME sector development between the SME Development National Center of Armenia and OSCE Office in Yerevan, the corresponding activities aimed at implementation of SME state policy and support programs are being carried out, particularly elaboration of the mechanisms contributing to establishment and development of SME support infrastructures in the Marzes of the RA, rising of SMEs awareness on existing legislation, improvement of running procedures on support provision in the framework of implementing program directions, as well as engagement of new business partners in the support programs and realization of R&D activities on SME sector. Cooperation between SME Development National Center of Armenia and United Kingdom Department for International Development (UK DFID is targeted at implementation of SME development programs in Gegharkunik and Tavush Marzes of the RA, as well as intensification of business activity in the regions.

In the context of the cooperation, the activities are carried out in the directions:

•    Enhancement of opportunities for cooperation with SMEs operating in selected regions of Marzes,
•    Strengthening of SME support infrastructures,
•    Expansion of the Loan Guarantees Provision Program,
•    Rising awareness on support programs providing for start-up and operating SMEs,
•    Provision of consulting and training support,
•    Assistance to new SMEs through involvement them in ongoing support programs. To read more

According to the trilateral Protocol signed among Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Ministry of Trade and Economic Development of the RA and SME Development National Center of Armenia in June of 2005, the “Human Resource Development in Small and Medium Enterprises of Armenia” project has been implemented by SME Development National Center of Armenia during 2005-2008.

The main goals of the Project are:

•    Further expansion of training programs of the SME DNC of Armenia
•    Development of business development services (BDS) market in Armenia
•    Improvement of business knowledge of Armenian SMEs. To read more

Roads of Culture and Tourism for
Development and Dialogue in Armenia

 

“Roads of Culture and Tourism for Development and Dialogue” is a project coordinated by UNESCO Moscow Office. The main objective of the project is protection, restoration and inheriting of UNESCO World Heritage listed monuments with involvement of the local population, in particular the women and the young, from the neighboring communities.

The main activities of the project are rising of awareness and knowledge of the local communities with regard to importance of preservation and protection of cultural and historical values surrounding them, change of negligent attitude of the local people towards these values, involvement of local population in community development and tourism activities thus creating new jobs, improving community life and solving several socio-economic problems. 

The project is intended for regions where there are UNESCO World Heritage sites.

In the framework of the project in 2008-2009 the pilot project  “Roads of Culture and Tourism for Development and Dialogue in Armenia”  (Lori Marz, Toumanyan region) was successfuly implemented. Read more
