Three New Enterprises Opened in Sisian And Goris With the Support Of SME DNC of Armenia and EU
Three new enterprises opened in Sisian and Goris cities, Syunik region of Armenia in the frameworks of the “Boosting Competitiveness of regional SMEs” EU and Armenian Government co-funded Project. The Project is implemented by SME DNC of Armenia and its partners. 
 
Levon Mnatsakanyan, Executive Director of SME DNC participated in the opening ceremony. “The activities of the newly opened enterprises will contribute to the development of tourism in the region. Syunik region has a great potential for tourism development”,-said Mnatsakanyan.
 
 

“Van” and “Meghu” hotels were opened in Goris and a souvenir production enterprise was established in Sisian. A souvenir shop will be operating next  to the company.  All these SMEs have participated in “Successful Start” start-up business support program of SME DNC of Armenia. At the end of the training, they have received a loan guarantee within the framework of the SME state support annual program, and “Boosting Competitiveness of regional SMEs” Project provided the enterprises with overall5 million AMD grant.

Renovation and furnishing were done in hotels through received loan guarantee and grant. The SME engaged in souvenir production has acquired raw materials, sewing machines and other related equipment and has started to produce souvenirs with typical to Syunik region ornaments and patterns. 

Levon Mnatsakanyan, representatives of SME DNC of Armenia and its partner organizations also visited the production of souvenirs in Goris. Aram Gasparyan, the founder of the company Re-rise, has participated in start-up training and received loan guarantee.Through the grant received n the frameworks of the “Boosting Competitiveness of regional SMEs” Project, he has acquired new equipment and started to produce souvenirs with local motives.

Projects partner “Strategic Development Agency” NGO has provided professional advice to beneficiaries on proper presentation of services in the market, promotion, sales organization and other directions.
