New Cosy Hotel, Established with EU Support in Goris, Will Open Its Doors for Travellers
To develop entrepreneurial skills, young entrepreneur Vram Hayrapetyan, who wanted to provide hospitality services in Goris city, Syunik region, on September 2017 has participated in the “Successful Start” start-up business support program within the “Boosting Competitiveness of regional SMEs” EU co-funded Project implemented by the Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center of Armenia and its partner organizations.
As a result of the Project, Vram Hayrapetyan has highly improved his business knowledge and skills, and due to received financial support and also by the support of the family, has got an opportunity to launch “Meghu” hotel, which is located in the picturesque forest area of Goris city, nearby Yerevan-Goris-Stepanakert and Yerevan-Goris-Megri interstate highways.
Instead of the previous 9 rooms and 14 beds, and partly renovated building now it has 12 renovated rooms with total 28 beds and completely renovated facility. Now the hotel is presented in Booking.com platform and established cooperation with more than a dozen Armenian tour operators. It has a stable flow of customers and a promising business growth.
To facilitate market access and promoting products in the markets specialized advisory services have been provided by “Strategic Development Agency” NGO, including branding, packaging design, sales management etc.
“Boosting competitiveness of regional SMEs” project is co-funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development of RA. The overall objective of the Project is to boost competitiveness of regional SMEs and create sustainable employment opportunities in Lori, Syunik and Armavir regions/marzes of Armenia. The Project is implemented by the SME Development National Center of Armenia in partnership with “Strategic Development Agency” NGO, “Armavir Development Center” NGO, “Spitak-Farmer” NGO, “Syun” NGO.
